Heart & Soul: Sundance Native Program Fellow, JESSE SHORT BULL
Jesse Antoine Short Bull (Writer, ISTINMA; RUNNING NORTH) is one of the most naturally gifted storytellers and biggest sweethearts on this planet. This past weekend at the 2016 Sundance Creative Producing Summit, Jesse laid out his immense talent and crafted his pitch with heart and soul. There were tears of support in the room for Jesse from esteemed industry attendees and afterwards new alliances were forged with heartfelt commitment to his and director Andres' vision. RUNNING NORTH, our feature narrative set on Oglala Lakota Nation in South Dakota has been a heightened labor of love, grief, sweat and joy through the years. Alongside our allies Native Youth Leadership Alliance, First Peoples Fund, Oglala Sioux Tribal Council, Oglala Lakota College, Northern Plains Native Film Commission, Film Independent LA, we welcome Sundance on our collective journey to the big screen. WOPILA TANKA to Sundance Native Lab for your validation, guidance, and support of Jesse and our project.
